چکیده

We discuss general incompressible inviscid models, including the Euler equations, the surface quasi-geostrophic equation, incompressible porous medium equation, and Boussinesq equations. All these models have classical unique solutions, at least for short time. We show that they have real analytic Lagrangian paths. More precisely, we show that as long as a solution of any of these equations is in a class of regularity that assures Hölder continuous gradients of velocity, the corresponding Lagrangian paths are real analytic functions of time. The method of proof is conceptually straightforward and general, and we address the combinatorial issues head-on. March 26, 2014.

Contrast between Lagrangian and Eulerian analytic regularity properties of Euler equations

We consider the incompressible Euler equations on R or T, where d ∈ {2, 3}. We prove that: (a) In Lagrangian coordinates the equations are locally well-posed in spaces with fixed real-analyticity radius (more generally, a fixed Gevrey-class radius). (b) In Lagrangian coordinates the equations are locally well-posed in highly anisotropic spaces, e.g. Gevrey-class regularity in the label a1 and S...

A Priori Estimates for Free Boundary Problem of Incompressible Inviscid Magnetohydrodynamic Flows

In the present paper, we prove the a priori estimates of Sobolev norms for a free boundary problem of the incompressible inviscid MHD equations in all physical spatial dimensions n = 2 and 3 by adopting a geometrical point of view used in [4], and estimating quantities such as the second fundamental form and the velocity of the free surface. We identify the well-posedness condition that the out...

Numerical investigation of free surface flood wave and solitary wave using incompressible SPH method

Simulation of free surface flow and sudden wave profile are recognized as the most challenging problem in computational hydraulics. Several Eulerian/Lagrangian approaches and models can be implemented for simulating such phenomena in which the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH) is categorized as a proper candidate. The incompressible SPH (ISPH) method hires a precise incompressible hy...

A Stochastic Lagrangian Representation of the 3-dimensional Incompressible Navier-stokes Equations

In this paper we derive a representation of the deterministic 3dimensional Navier-Stokes equations based on stochastic Lagrangian paths. The particle trajectories obey SDEs driven by a uniform Wiener process; the inviscid Weber formula for the Euler equations of ideal fluids is used to recover the velocity field. This method admits a self-contained proof of local existence for the nonlinear sto...

LOGARITHMICALLY REGULARIZED INVISCID MODELS IN BORDERLINE SOBOLEV SPACES DONGHO CHAE AND JIAHONG WU Dedicated to Professor Peter Constantin on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday

Several inviscid models in hydrodynamics and geophysics such as the incompressible Euler vorticity equations, the surface quasi-geostrophic equation and the Boussinesq equations are not known to have even local well-posedness in the corresponding borderline Sobolev spaces. Here H is referred to as a borderline Sobolev space if the L∞-norm of the gradient of the velocity is not bounded by the H-...
